Refund Policy

Version 2.0 · Effective May 25, 2026

Precept Calls are $25 for 20 minutes. While we're validating the paid experience, the refund rule is intentionally simple: if you ask for a refund, you get one. No 24-hour cutoff. No questions asked.

The rule. Full refund on request, no questions asked. Email hello@precepthealth.app with your session details and we'll process it. Stripe typically returns the funds to your card within 5–10 business days.

Why it works this way

We're at the start of paid Calls on Precept. The simplest, most trust-building policy during this validation phase is "if you didn't get what you needed, you get your money back." We'd rather lose a refund than lose your trust. As the platform matures and we have more data on how Calls land, this policy will become more granular — cancellation windows, no-show rules, and mentor accountability layers will be defined then. For now, simple is the right answer.

If something specific goes wrong

Mentor doesn't show up

Full refund. The mentor is also flagged for follow-up — repeated no-shows trigger a review under our mentor accountability process. You don't need to do anything beyond letting us know the Call didn't happen.

You can't make the time

Reach out as early as you can — directly to your mentor through chat, or to us at hello@precepthealth.app. You can refund the Call any time before or after it was supposed to happen.

You showed up, mentor didn't, then later they did

Email us. We'll work it out case by case. Common outcome: free reschedule of the remaining time, plus full refund if you'd rather not continue.

Connection dropped, technical problem

Email us. We typically reschedule the remaining time at no extra cost, or refund the Call entirely if reschedule isn't workable.

You'd just like a refund

Email us. You'll get a refund. That's the whole policy during validation.

How to request a refund

  1. Email hello@precepthealth.app from the same address tied to your Precept account
  2. Include the session date + mentor name (or just paste the booking confirmation email)
  3. Briefly say what happened — one sentence is enough; we won't push for more

We respond within one business day. Refunds appear on your card within 5–10 business days after we process them. Stripe's processing fee on the original charge is not returned to us, but that's our cost — not yours.

Mentor accountability

When a mentor doesn't show or cuts a Call short, it's recorded under our internal accountability process. A single miss is forgiven if the mentor reaches out promptly; repeated misses lead to a pause from accepting bookings while we reflect with them on what changed. Our goal is a calm, trustworthy platform — not a punitive one. Mentors are independent professionals, not employees.

Disputes and chargebacks

If a refund decision feels wrong, reply to the email and we'll review again. We'd much rather resolve disagreements directly than through a card chargeback, which costs both of us time. A chargeback before contacting us is at your discretion but won't change anything — during validation, every reasonable refund request is approved on the first ask.

What this policy doesn't cover

Precept is not emergency, medical, or mental health care. Calls are independent peer mentorship — career, educational, and navigational conversations between healthcare professionals. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or local emergency services.
